“Santa I saw your truck in the parking lot”
“Yes, you did sweetie, my sled doesn’t work in Florida because there’s no snow!
Oh my, did we have fun this weekend during our first visit of the season from the big guy himself! We filled the day with five fun sessions full of smiles, laughter, and of course, holiday memories that will be remembered for years to come. Each family brought a unique dynamic, style, and energy to the studio that kept us all on our toes.
With this year’s social distancing guidelines, there was no classic sitting on Santa’s lap photos; however, does Jeanine ever do anything basic or ordinary? She transformed the studio into a warm, welcoming living room decked with Christmas trees, presents, and plenty of holiday cheer where the kids and families were able to sit with Santa in a relaxed (and safe) setting.
The families began their sessions cozied around the “fireplace” to hear Santa read Twas the Night Before Christmas. Some gazed in awe that Santa was there in front of them and others were distracted trying to steal the cookies and milk layed out for them. Some of the cutest images are of the kiddos testing their self restraint while side-eyeing the plate with mouths watering.
After story time, we had to pull out the nice list to ensure that only the good boys and girls were getting a treat. To their parents’ surprise, they all made the cut! Before getting a bite, we had them bow their heads and bless the sweets that they were so fortunate to have.
( Even some of the big kids made the list 😉
My favorite moment of the day was when a family with two sweet children found their late sister’s name on the nice list and said a special prayer for their angel up in heaven. I had goosebumps and everyone’s hearts were so full.
Cookies were not only delicious but the best bribe for smiles!
Once Miss Jeanine fiiiiiiiiiinally let them eat the cookies she had been dangling in front of their faces, Santa pulled out a globe to show the kids where his home was. The fascination on their faces (even the big kids )was priceless!
Although it is only Mid-October, the Christmas magic was abundant at Cloud 9 and we are so grateful we got to create these memories with everyone. This has been an overwhelming, chaotic, and downright unpredictable year; but taking the time to gather around and truly embrace the love and magic of the holiday season was something that we all needed.
I look forward to all of the sets this year and helping more families create something magical and happy even if the world isn’t right now. If you haven’t booked your holiday session yet do not wait! We are selling out sessions quickly and we want to share the same holiday magic with you! For booking information go to Christmasoncloud9.com or call us at the studio at 813-994-4552!
