Welcome to our third installment of “Getting to Know Your Cloud 9 Staffers” – Holiday Edition! This week we are featuring 20 questions with Mary!
Check it out!!!
1) What’s your name & job title at Cloud 9?
I am Mary and I am the Office Assistant. This job brought me out of
retirement. I love working here and meeting so many new people.
2) How long have you worked at Cloud 9?
I have worked at Cloud 9 for about 16 months now.
3) What’s your favorite part of your job?
My job here is to create an enjoyable experience for our clients, from arrival
to departure. I enjoy decorating the office, especially Christmas!! I also assist
Jeanine with the newborn and baby sessions. Being a grandmother of 5, I have
developed strong reflexes and instincts. I know when that sweet baby needs
“catching” and soothing. I am also the animal handler during the duck and
rabbit sessions. Being an avid animal lover, where else could I have so much
fun!?!
4) What are your hobbies?
I love spoiling my grandkids! I enjoy kayaking, golfing, boating, and anything
having to do with the water. I also like riding with my husband on our Harley.
I consider myself to be crafty and love doing projects. Especially ones
involving wine corks.
5) What’s your favorite holiday movie?
My favorite Christmas movie is Chevy Chase “Christmas Vacation”.
6) What’s your favorite holiday song?
My favorite Christmas song is “Oh Holy Night” by Michael Crawford or
Johnny Mathis. I also like and still have my original “Alvin and the Chipmunks
Christmas” album from 1956.
7) What’s your favorite Christmas gift as a child?
When I was a child I got a Tiny Tears Baby Doll. Today my favorite gifts are
anything my children and grandchildren make for me.
8) Favorite holiday tradition?
When I was a child, my mother always made very elaborate Santa cookies.
My brothers and I would help her decorate them! They tasted delicious!!
9) Wrapping paper or gift bags?
I like both! It depends on the gift and how tired I am of wrapping gifts.
10) Real or Fake tree?
I love the smell of a real tree and how soft the needles are when it is fresh.
One year my husband, our children, friends and I all got in the back of our
truck and drove up to Dade City to a tree farm where we cut one down. It
looked like a Charlie Brown tree but it was a very memorable time.
11) Clear lights or colored?
I love colored bulbs as the trees I had as a child were always filled with
colored lights. I especially liked the candle lights that would bubble when
heated up. But now I enjoy the lights all the same colors and are tiny and
twinkle.
12) Star or Angel tree topper?
I love an angel on top of the tree. I have had the same one since the early 70’s.
She has aged incredibly well. No sun for her!!!
13) Gingerbread or sugar cookies?
Sugar or course!
14) Hot Cocoa, Egg Nog, or Apple Cider?
I love apple cider when it is cold out and we have a fire going inside or out.
Plus a touch of holiday cheer!
15) What are your favorite holiday foods?
I like green bean casserole, sweet potatoes (any which way) or yams, fruit
salad and last but not least any baked goods like cookies, breads and cakes
(Yummy Rum Cake).
16) Peppermint Lover or Hater?
Peppermint Lover
17) Open presents Christmas Eve or morning?
We did both since we had Christmas Eve with my in-laws and Christmas Day
with my family. As a child, we always opened one Christmas Eve.
18) What is your favorite activity of Peppermint the Elf?
I did not know who he was until joining Cloud 9. The kids love him and are
elated to see him when they find his hiding spot. I like coming in and seeing
where he is, too.
19) What is your favorite part of the holidays at the studio?
Decorating the studio and the Christmas party!!
20) Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer (without looking it up?)
Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Doner and Blitzen. And
Rudolph of course.
I have a bit of trivia (true fact)! Rudolph did not join the original “8” until the 20th century!
Stay tuned for next week when we will be featuring Carly!!!
