In our own home, this bond is part of everyday life.
James rushes home from school to see our furry family members before anything else. He drops off his backpack at the door, takes off his shoes and goes straight to them (which isn’t hard because they are both waiting at the door when he opens it!)
They’re the last thing he wants before bed and the first thing he looks for in the morning.
Our cat, Clover, truly believes James is her child … watching over him, sitting beside him while he reads, quietly keeping him company.
And our golden retriever, Quinn, shows her love differently … racing through the house with zoomies, begging James to play, and never missing a chance to be right in the middle of the fun.
