Family!
Earlier in the year I photographed this family as they gathered together for a celebration. As Thanksgiving approaches I thought this was the perfect session to share on the blog!
Listen … I know it isn’t easy to convince your family to come to the studio for a portrait … when you bring up the idea you are met with grunts, eyerolls and “really?” comments. However … just remember … a Cloud 9 session isn’t like what most people are used to! This won’t be a boring, stuffy hour of time spent yelling at your children (and husband) to smile.
When you arrive we have cookies and drinks to greet you with (yes I believe in bribes and find that chocolate chip cookies make even the grumpiest of people smile!)
There is music playing (typically my 80s happy music, but if grandpa is in to Beastie Boys, Kanye West or Elvis Presley, just let me know and I can have a playlist ready to go!). I have found when you enjoy the music in the room, life is just better … so why have a portrait session without music?
Did I mention I am funny? Well not really … I can’t tell jokes, but I can make funny farting noises that always works on even the most stubborn of 12 year old boys. And when all else fails I have squeaker toys that are usually reserved for the 2 year olds, but I have been known to kiss a dad or two with them and make everyone laugh!
We aren’t just taking your picture during a family session.
We are laughing, telling stories and creating memories that will last forever in a family portrait!
