Whether your child wants to sit quietly with their pet, giggle with them, or simply be close, we follow their lead. And your pet doesn’t need to sit perfectly, look at the camera, or know special commands. Our job is to work with the personalities your child and pet bring us and create portraits from the relationship that’s already there.

In our own home, the bond between children and their pets is part of everyday life.
James rushes home from school to see our furry family members before anything else. He drops off his backpack at the door, takes off his shoes and goes straight to them (which isn’t hard because they are both waiting at the door when he opens it!)
They’re the last thing he wants before bed and the first thing he looks for in the morning.
Our cat, Clover, truly believes James is her child … watching over him, sitting beside him while he reads, quietly keeping him company.
And our golden retriever, Quinn, shows her love differently … racing through the house with zoomies, begging James to play, and never missing a chance to be right in the middle of the fun.

Some of our favorite images happen in the moments between the “perfect” poses.

Can we include siblings or more than one pet?
Absolutely. Multiple children and multiple family pets can be included in the Child + Pet Portrait Experience. During your phone consultation, we’ll learn about everyone you’d like to include so we can plan the session around your family, the number and types of pets, and their individual personalities.
What if my pet is shy, energetic, or nervous?
Please tell us during your phone consultation. Knowing your pet’s personality ahead of time helps us plan the session around what will make them most comfortable. We don’t expect every pet to behave the same way, and we’ll never force an interaction that isn’t working.
What should my child wear for portraits with their pet?
We recommend clothing that feels like your child and coordinates naturally with your pet without being overly matching. During your consultation, we’ll help you think through clothing, colors, and the style of portraits you’d like to create so everything feels cohesive.
